V-Day Style: Pretty Little Underthings (2nd Edition)
Last year’s Valentine’s Day Style post was the #2 most viewed post on the site last year, so it seemed highly fitting that we do it again!
I rounded up my girl gang — some that participated last year and some fresh faces, too — to bring you the 2nd annual version of the Pretty Little Underthings post. I hope you feel inspired to treat yourself (or someone else 😉) to something that makes you feel hot, empowered, or at the very least cozy (we’ve still got another month and a half left of winter, y’all!).

Valentine’s Day Plans?: To post some over the top photos of my children and to wear an excessive amount of hearts on my clothing. Also. Chocolate. On some strawberries. My husband and I don’t value gifting too much. We are more of a makeout and vacuum the living room show-ers of love.

Why I love this item: The second I saw this set I was like “YAAAS!” It’s one of those outfits that literally anyone could put on and feel HOT AF 🔥🔥🔥

Valentine’s Day Plans?: We usually exchange some sweet gifts, order take out (we’re over the dress up fancy and go out to a crazy expensive restaurant thing—probably also bc we’d rather be with our dogs lol) pick out a fun movie and cuddle ;)

Personal Style: chic casual, slightly boho/70s
Why I love this item: I made a goal for 2020 to not buy any new clothing unless absolutely necessary and I’m not sure how I feel about secondhand lingerie, so we’re gonna be shopping from what I already own today. I am absolutely OBSESSED with this bodysuit. The perfect combination of sexy (the brand is called “Hot As Hell” - need I say more?), flattering and dare I say...comfortable? Bonus: I can secretly wear it under my outfit until the time is right… ;)

V-Day plans: My husband tours and is often gone for Valentine’s Day, but this year he’s in town! We haven’t made plans yet, but they’ll either be a romantic dinner out at our favorite restaurant or a frozen pizza with cocktails at home (we don’t know how to do anything in-between).

Why I love this item: Let me start by saying this is my FIRST REAL LINGERIE PURCHASE EVER. Overwhelmed by possibilities, I googled "Black Lingerie" and here we are...
I like this little set because it's pretty classic. Kinda has a Demi Moore in the 90s feel to it. My plan is to pair the nightgown with a high-waisted black panty for a classic look (and some coverage - hey oh!) OR ditch her totally in favor of the robe depending on how scandalous I feel!

Plans for Valentine's Day: Dinner at Epice followed by the Michael Kiwanuka show at Marathon Music Works--which is just great Valentine's timing, as his music has been our soundtrack to many a roadtrip (and romp). Then, let's be honest. Bastion.

Why I love this item: This feels very “Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and I am HERE FOR IT. Also pink lace + ruffles + fringe seems like the perfect V-day ‘fit!

Valentine’s Day plans?: You know, he brought it up a few weeks ago, and I kind of dismissed it. I’m never really in the mood to go out on the weekends anymore because of all the tourists. But I really do love Valentine’s Day, so I'm trying to rally!

Why I love this item: I am 100% still wearing maternity panties, and my child is 2.5 years old. They are too comfortable to not wear. Colsie recently came out with this thermal bralette that I’m obsessed with. It’s so comfortable that I can sleep in it! Clearly comfort rules all for this mom!

Valentine’s Day Plans?: My Valentine’s Day plans consist of a Chick Fil A date with my daughter after school, followed by a nail polishing party for the two of us. When my husband comes home from work, we will likely watch “Live PD”, smoke a bowl, and order a pizza

Personal style: Madewell but without the boyfriend fit. I don’t look good in ill-fitted clothing!
Why I love this item: I like this item because it’s sexy in all the right ways. Not too much “naughty nurse” but still flirty and I wouldn’t feel ridiculous in it. Also, I might rock a spray tan like the model did and maybe the hair extensions as an added bonus!
Relationship status: Sadly, I haven’t had a Valentine since the Obama administration, (the first term). As Lizzo says, “I put the sing in single.”
Valentine’s Day Plans?: I usually go out with girlfriends, but I might take my son to see Blue Man Group at TPAC and force him to be my Valentine’s date.

Why I like this item: I love that this brand size inclusive! I think it's important to support brands that make it a point to make great clothes for all bodies. Also, my husband is an ass man, and this outfit highlights my tush.

Why I love this item: These gap jammies are the BOMB - anything in their truesleep modal is sleep perfection. A matching set makes me feel like I am a character in a rom-com. I've never really thought about it this way until now, but my whole night time routine - including a pajama lewk - is self care. It helps me acknowledge that rest is important and I am allowed it, even if my boss would prefer I work until midnight. (It can WAIT, Karen!)

Valentine’s Day plans?: Going to a terrarium building class with girlfriends

Personal style: I’m either fully decked out or in sweatpants. There is no in-between.
Why I love this item: I already have one H&M bodysuit, and it’s a real crowd pleaser if you catch my drift. Also, most bodysuits that I see in stores are unlined and thongs, and this one is a push up (which this small-chested girl loves!) with a cheeky bottom. I love the deep v detail!

Valentine’s Day plans?: My roommate and I are going to a show, and then we’ll see where the night takes us!

Why I love this item: I love this item because of the design, the material, and the cut. I love a dressing robe and REALLY WANT an actual silk one! Let’s be real - I want to feel fancy.

Personal Style: Anyone who knows me would probably say that I have a romantic style, but I always throw in some edgy/funky pieces. I shop mainly at thrift, second-hand, and vintage shops...and I mix in some contemporary items too! I am a big believer in just wearing you want, regardless of the occasion!
Why I love this item: I have loved everything Only Hearts since I sold the brand during my college retail job. I’m a shameless pink lover! And I have been lusting after one of these Room Shop Vintage cloud scrunchies forever. *wink wink, husband!*
Relationship status: I have been married a little over a year to a hunky songwriter. ;)
Valentine’s Day Plans?: We aren’t ones to fight the Nashville crowds, so we will probably stay in, cook dinner together, and, fingers crossed, watch a nineties rom-com.

Why I love this item: I like these items because they are something special to me. I don't like gifts just to gift, I want it to mean something.
Relationship status: In a newer relationship, we are close to our year mark.
Valentine’s Day Plans?: We have tickets to the Illusionists and a reservation at a hip new restaurant downtown on the 15th. Still deciding if we are celebrating anything the day of. I'd like to do something simple, just the two of us.

Personal style: I feel like I’m pretty basic. I like to be comfortable, and I do like to be stylish - but I am not super fashion forward or anything. I like what I like, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s cool. If I feel good in it and I like the way I look in it, then I am good.
Why I love this item: I feel like slippers and robes are way underrated, so that’s where I am going this year. I want a cute yet comfy robe and some fluffy slippers. I can get creative with what goes underneath, if you know what I mean.
Relationship status: I am in a relationship and we have been together about a year and a half.
Valentine’s Day plans?: We are moving this month, so we have been focusing on that and trying to save money. We originally weren’t going to do anything, but my boyfriend has been wanting to take me to The Southern pretty much since we met, so we decided V-day was the time to do it. Of course, since V-day is on a Friday, the only reservation they had open was at 10 pm. And since I’m old, I didn’t want to do that. We decided to do our dinner reservations Thursday evening, and then Friday (aka actual Valentine’s Day) we will probably just spend time together at home watching a movie or something.
