Bisous from Paris! Our Shoot with Flytographer

Justin and I haven’t quite mastered the art of the selfie, and as we saved for years to take our dream trip to Europe last month, I wanted to commemorate our big adventure (and our 5th anniversary!) with some professional photos.

The only issue? We didn’t know anyone in Paris.

Enter: Flytographer.

Flytographer is a site where you can quickly and painlessly book a professional destination photographer to capture photos of you, your kids, your engagement (!!!), whatever you want! Their site features profiles of local photographers where you can see their work as well as learn about their background, favorite places to shoot, languages they are fluent in, etc. Once you find someone you want to work with, you book them through the site and can even specify what kind of shots you would like and how much direction you would prefer during the shoot. If you’re ever in Paris, we worked with Olga and absolutely adored her! She was thorough and patient and knowledgeable. Our shoot was scheduled for our final day in Paris, and the weather wasn’t being cooperative. The night before she asked if we wanted to reschedule, and while my perfectionist tendencies tried to railroad me like they always do (hey! I’m working on it!), I’m really thankful for the friends who encouraged me to continue on with the shoot, crazy winds and all! My hair looks a little…tousled (LOL) but I know I’ll always treasure these photos. Our grandkids likely won’t be charmed by pics of us with our tongues out in front of the Louvre, but I know they’ll appreciate these. Hey, you only go to Paris for the first time once, right?!
